Torefierea – o nouă direcţie de sporire a calităţii peleţilor de foc produşi din biomasă autohtonă

Abstract

The purpose of the present research was to study the possibility of increasing the calorific value and other properties of the lignocellulosic biomass used for the production of pellets by torrefying it before processing. The researches were carried out in the Solid Biofuels Laboratory of the State Agrarian University of Moldova, using standards methods for determining the main qualitative characteristics of the studied biomass. It has been proved that the integration of torrefaction in the technological process of pellet production from agricultural residues is a reliable means of increasing the calorific value and other properties of the finished product. The effect of torrefaction is mostly pronounced in the case of biomass derived from wheat straw, marking an increase of the low calorific value (dry basis) of the finished product from 17,584 MJ/kg up to 22,752 MJ/kg, which represents a relative increase of 29.4%. Based on the performed researches, a new technology of pellet production from agricultural residues with characteristics corresponding to ENPlus norms was developed.

Rezumat. Scopul prezentei cercetări este studierea posibilităţii de mărire a puterii calorifice şi a altor proprietăţi ale biomasei lignocelulozice, folosite la producerea peleţilor, prin torefierea acesteia оnainte de procesare. Cercetările au fost realizate оn Laboratorul de Biocombustibili Solizi din cadrul Universităţii Agrare de Stat din Moldova, folosindu-se metode standard de determinare a principalelor caracteristici calitative ale biomasei studiate. S-a demonstrat că integrarea torefierii în procesul tehnologic de producere a peleţilor din reziduuri agricole este un mijloc sigur de sporire a puterii calorifice şi altor proprietăţi ale produsului finit. Efectul torefierii se manifestă cel mai pronunţat în cazul biomasei provenite din paie de grâu, marcând o sporire a puterii calorifice inferioare în bază uscată a produsului finit de la 17,584 MJ/kg pвnă la 22,752 MJ/kg, ceea ce reprezintă o sporire relativă de 29.4%. În baza cercetărilor efectuate a fost elaborată o tehnologie nouă de producere a peleţilor din reziduuri agricole cu caracteristici corespunzătoare normelor ENPlus.
